The beehive symbol has been adopted by different cultural communities throughout Utah's history from 1847 onwards to express a Utah identity blended with their heritage. The Beehive State has long been a crossroads of cultural diversity, especially since the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad in 1869. Today, Utah is home to a diverse range of ethnic, racial, social, and religious groups, and its demographics continue to shift rapidly.
