Lifeways is a term used by many cultural workers and encompasses a culture's way of life as well as their way through life. Every cultural group has value and belief systems that influence their daily, weekly, and annual rituals.

In the Uintah Basin, folklife is influenced by the people, geography, and ecology of the area. 

Cultural group: any number of people who share common factors. A factor is a belief, tradition, or practice that brings that group together.
