Herman Nelson, Jr. with his wife Wendy Nelson

Herman Nelson Jr. is a Navajo jewelry maker. He married a Ute woman (Wendy) and lives on the Northern Ute reservation. He has been making jewelry since he was a child, learning by watching his uncles who made pieces for sale.

Herman and Wendy make their living selling wares at various art shows and native gatherings. Herman sells his jewelry; Wendy is a vendor for leather goods. They travel to 7–8 art shows a year. They hope to soon open a store in the Fort Duchesne area so they don't need to travel as much.
