Jose Galicia, better known as J.J., was trained as a veterinarian but became a metal worker in commercial building construction after emigrating to the United States. He originally learned the technique of metal embossing, or repujado, from his mother and uses the skills gained through his adopted trade to mark out and assemble his elaborate pieces.
