Wood and metal printing plate/block. Logo that says, "Beehive State Bank." Has outline of State of Utah with a beehive in the middle.
Part of collection related to DeBouzek camera. Camera invented and patents applied for in Canada and US by Jean DeBouzek in March 1915. The camera was used to pictures for engraving plates. The innovations of the camera included autofocus, increased use of metal in place of wood. It sold for $400-500 depending upon how it was mounted. DeBouzek was a trained artist from Chicago who came to Utah at the turn of the century. DeBouzek was approached by the Deseret News to make all of their photo engravings. Rather than being employed by Deseret News, DeBouzek went into business and received much of the work from the Deseret News. Camera was in use until the day it was received.
