Biographical Text

Before he was old enough to go to school Marty Thompson remembers taking naps on the wool skin while "helping" his dad at the saddle shop. By age ten he was making things from scrap leather and learning to stamp his own designs and by fourteen he was making tooled leather belts, knife sheaths and wallets. Having a saddle shop outside his back door gave Marty the opportunity to work with his dad, and learn from him too, whether that meant building ground seats, tooling the saddle skirts or making his own gear. Marty now runs his own custom saddle shop in Wellsville, UT.
